New this year

Samsung's 2025 collection introduces major advancements, notably the expansion of the acclaimed Glare Free panel technology beyond OLED to include premium Neo QLED models, significantly improving viewing experiences by minimizing reflections without compromising picture quality. This anti-glare technology is prominently featured on the flagship 8K Neo QLED QN990F and QN900F models, 4K Neo QLED QN90F, and OLED S95F.

Another standout feature is the Wireless One Connect Box, exclusive to the high-end QN990F and The Frame Pro, eliminating cable clutter and enabling easier installation. Samsung's Vision AI technology receives major enhancements as well, integrating AI Gamma Pro for dynamic gamma adjustments based on ambient lighting, and further improving AI Upscaling Pro capabilities, now available even in selected 4K models.

Gamers also have reasons to celebrate, with enhanced gaming specifications featuring HDMI 2.1 across multiple models, offering refresh rates up to 165Hz, VRR, and ALLM for the ultimate gaming performance.

The pinnacle of Samsung’s TV technology for 2025 is found in its 8K Neo QLED models, notably the flagship QN990F and the slightly lower-tier QN900F. Both models deliver stunning 8K (7680x4320) resolution powered by Mini-LED Quantum Matrix Technology Pro for precision dimming and outstanding HDR performance. A key advancement is the introduction of the Wireless One Connect Box exclusive to the QN990F, allowing inputs and processing units to connect wirelessly up to 10 meters away, significantly simplifying installation.

Differentiating factors between the QN990F and QN900F include the processor (NQ8 AI Gen3 for the QN990F, Gen2 for the QN900F), refresh rate capabilities (4K@240Hz and 8K@120Hz for the QN990F vs. 4K@165Hz and 8K@60Hz for the QN900F), and audio output (up to 120W with OTS Pro in QN990F). Both models integrate Samsung's Glare Free anti-reflection technology, significantly improving viewing experiences in bright environments as well as wide viewing angles.

The QN900F does set itself apart with its unique frame-like metal bezel; offering those looking for a premium television that integrates seamlessly into their decor. New this year, its users will be able to use the same “Art” function previously exclusive to the Frame televisions; bringing together Samsung’s best in class display with its beloved functionality.

Last year, Samsung introduced its entry level S85D OLED television (with WOLED panel), growing its offer to cover all levels of this ever-growing segment - along with presenting a never-before-seen glare-free technology on its S95D flagship model, and benchmark setting brightness in both the S90D and S95D. This year, it goes a step further by sharing this same QD-OLED panel in its entry-level S85F in both 55 and 65 inch models, while also introducing introduction the latest evolution of its patented QD-OLED panel in both the S90F and S95F; increasing peak brightness by 30%, or 1300 and 2000 nits respectively. It is however important to note that the 42, 48, and 83 inch models will continue to use the WOLED alternative.

The segment-leading S95F also benefits from an improved 2.0 version of its groundbreaking glare-free finish, and sees its refresh rate increased to 165Hz over all 4 of its 2.1 HDMI ports with VRR compatibility. The inclusion of Samsung's advanced NQ4 AI Gen3 processor introduces the acclaimed AI Upscaling Pro feature to the 4K line-up; a needed improvement for last year’s model.

The S90F retains the powerful NQ4 AI Gen3 processor with Vision AI suite, including AI Upscaling Pro, ensuring superior image processing, but will be limited to a refresh rate of 144Hz. It also omits the one-connect box and glare-free finish found on the S95F.

The mid-tier QN85F and entry-level Neo QLED QN80F utilize the NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor and support Variable Refresh Rates up to 144Hz, but do not include the Glare Free technology. These models offer slightly fewer premium features at more accessible price points, making them attractive for those seeking particular use-cases and performance levels tailored to their personnel needs.
