The all-new Sonos Era 100 Pro is built on the same foundations as the familiar Sonos Era 100, but with some important additions. Although designed for professional installations in commercial environments, the proposed connectivity solution will certainly benefit multiroom residential systems.
Improved connectivity and power
A key feature of the Era 100 Pro is its support for Power over Ethernet (PoE+). This technology enables power and data to be supplied to the loudspeaker via a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation and eliminating the need for separate power outlets. This is particularly useful in large installations or in spaces where it's difficult to run power cables - so the Era-100 Pro can be installed anywhere, while completely concealing the cable that powers it... The Era 100 Pro is optimized for PoE+, but is also compatible with standard PoE for added flexibility.
Versatile mounting options
The Era 100 Pro includes a detachable hook that offers increased stability for horizontal or ceiling mounting. It can also be installed with a dedicated surface-mount bracket, sold separately, which allows a 30-degree tilt and swivel range and 360-degree rotation. It's now possible to position the speakers precisely and achieve optimum sound coverage in all types of environments.
The speaker also features a threaded anchor point at the rear that can be combined with an optional eyebolt for a secondary safety attachment point; offering increased safety anchoring against accidental falls. Finally, this speaker features integrated cable management, making it easy to finish your installation.
Established audio quality
The Era 100 Pro retains the exceptional audio quality of the familiar Era 100, which continues to stand out in its class. It features two angled tweeters, a dedicated woofer and the same rich, detailed stereo sound with deep bass. The pro version sees the introduction of dynamic digital signal processing (DSP), which automatically adjusts according to speaker orientation.
Create and manage zones
Set up zones in the Sonos application to optimize sound distribution in large spaces. A zone is a semi-permanent grouping of several speakers within a system. It can correspond to an entire room, part of a room, or even several rooms. Once created, a zone keeps speakers grouped together until the user deletes it in the system settings. You can add up to 16 devices to a zone.
