11 × 140 W Amplification and 13.4-Channel Processing

The AVR-X6800H amplifies 11 channels at 140 W per channel into 8 ohms (20 Hz-20 kHz, THD 0.05%, two channels driven) and processes up to 13.4 channels in total. A 13.4-channel pre-out lets you add an external power amplifier to drive the two extra channels — for example a 9.4.4 or 7.4.6 configuration. The receiver decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced, with Auro-Matic and Dolby Surround for upmixing non-native sources. The unit is designed and manufactured in Japan.

HDMI 2.1 on Every Input (8K/60, 4K/120)

All 7 HDMI inputs are HDMI 2.1 and support 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, HDCP 2.3, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG. VRR, ALLM, and QFT are supported for recent consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X). Three HDMI outputs are provided (two 8K-capable), one of which supports HDMI eARC to receive Dolby Atmos and DTS:X streams from a modern TV's built-in apps.

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 with Dirac Live Compatibility

The AVR-X6800H includes Audyssey MultEQ XT32 with multi-position measurement using the supplied microphone. It is also compatible with Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control: Dirac licenses are purchased separately and installed online, then replace Audyssey for room correction and multi-subwoofer optimization. Four independent RCA subwoofer outputs allow separate delay, level, and equalization per output, with additional refinement when Dirac Live Bass Control is activated.

HEOS Built-In and Custom-Integration Options

On the streaming side, HEOS Built-In gives direct access to Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Deezer, TuneIn, and Roon; Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth are supported, along with dual-band Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port. The receiver includes two extra zones (Zone 2 and Zone 3) plus a zone HDMI output, and it supports IP and RS-232 control for professional integration. A rear-panel MM phono input is provided for a turntable.

What's the difference between 11-channel amplification and 13.4-channel processing?

The built-in amplifier drives up to 11 passive speakers directly from the rear binding posts. The processor can handle a larger configuration (up to 13.4 channels) through the pre-outs: the two extra channels are sent as line-level signals and connect to an external power amplifier (for example, for a 7.4.6 Dolby Atmos layout).

Does the AVR-X6800H support Dirac Live?

Yes. It is compatible with Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control. The corresponding licenses are purchased separately from Dirac; once activated, they replace the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction and enable multi-subwoofer optimization through Bass Control.
