Rated total harmonic distortion 0.003% at 1 kHz, signal-to-noise ≥ 115 dB (A-weighted), damping factor greater than 400 into 8 ohms, frequency response 10 Hz – 30 kHz (±0.5 dB at 1 W into 8 ohms), channel crosstalk below -95 dB at 180 W into 8 ohms. Brushed aluminum front panel with two illuminated analog VU meters, one balanced XLR input and one unbalanced RCA input with switchable 23 dB or 29 dB gain, 12 V trigger input and output for synchronized power sequencing, clearly labeled gold-plated speaker binding posts for bridge mode.

Description

Description

Class-AB Amplifier With 800 W Toroidal Linear Power Supply

The Eversolo AMP-F8 is a fully analog stereo power amplifier built around a Class-AB topology — the traditional, power-hungry approach chosen for its linearity and the natural presentation it enables across the audio band. At the heart of the unit, a custom 800 W toroidal linear transformer feeds three pairs of precision MOSFETs in the output stage. Rated total harmonic distortion of just 0.003% at 1 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of ≥ 115 dB A-weighted, and a damping factor greater than 400 into 8 ohms — measured behavior that reflects clean operation and firm loudspeaker control. Frequency response 10 Hz – 30 kHz (±0.5 dB at 1 W into 8 ohms), channel crosstalk below -95 dB at 180 W into 8 ohms.

180 W / 8 ohms Stereo, 280 W / 4 ohms Stereo — or 500 W / 8 ohms in Bridged Mono

The AMP-F8 delivers 180 W RMS per channel into 8 ohm loads or 280 W RMS per channel into 4 ohm loads in classic stereo operation. A front-panel switch reconfigures the unit into bridged mono mode: the two channels are combined to deliver up to 500 W RMS into 8 ohms on a single loudspeaker. This flexibility opens two clear use cases: a single AMP-F8 driving a stereo pair of speakers, or two AMP-F8s in bridge mode forming a pair of 500 W monoblocks for very large or low-sensitivity loudspeakers — a natural upgrade path for the listener who starts with a single AMP-F8 and moves to monoblocks later. The gold-plated speaker binding posts on the rear panel are clearly labeled for bridge mode, which prevents miswiring.

Illuminated Analog VU Meters, Switchable Gain, XLR and RCA Inputs

The AMP-F8's brushed aluminum front panel carries two illuminated analog VU meters — an old-school constant visual reminder of the actual output level on each channel. Around back, one balanced XLR input and one unbalanced RCA input match virtually any preamplifier or variable-output streamer. A gain switch offers two settings depending on source sensitivity: 5.2 V for 23 dB of gain or 2.6 V for 29 dB of gain on the XLR input (2.65 V / 23 dB or 1.3 V / 29 dB on the RCA input), for optimal level matching. A 12 V trigger input and output allow synchronized power sequencing with other Eversolo components (for example a DMP-A8 Gen 2 streamer or a DAC-Z10) or with a third-party preamplifier that provides trigger outputs.

Where the AMP-F8 Sits in the Eversolo Amplifier Range

Eversolo offers several amplifiers covering different needs: the AMP-F2 (compact entry-level power block), the AMP-F6 (GaN-based), the AMP-F8 (Class-AB stereo shown here), the AMP-F10 (larger Class-AB model), and the SA200 integrated streaming amplifier. The AMP-F8 stands as the most versatile mid-range Class-AB choice: it offers the flexibility of bridge-mono mode, comfortable power reserves for most domestic hi-fi speakers (floorstanders or bookshelves of normal to moderate sensitivity), and a substantial chassis — 265 × 388 × 119 mm (W × D × H) for a 15.9 kg net weight that reflects the linear toroidal transformer inside. Universal 100-120 V or 220-240 V mains, 1200 W maximum consumption. Ships with power cable, trigger cable, and user manual; manufacturer's limited warranty.

Common Questions

How much power does the AMP-F8 actually deliver?

Three operating modes: stereo into 8 ohms — 180 W RMS per channel; stereo into 4 ohms — 280 W RMS per channel; bridged mono into 8 ohms — 500 W RMS on a single loudspeaker. Bridge mode is selected from the front panel and combines the two internal channels to drive a single loudspeaker with significantly higher output voltage. This flexibility lets you start in stereo with a single AMP-F8, then add a second AMP-F8 later to form a pair of 500 W monoblocks — useful for very large or lower-sensitivity loudspeakers.

How does bridged mono mode work?

In bridged mono (bridge) mode, the two internal channels of a single AMP-F8 are driven in opposite phase and combined to feed one loudspeaker, which significantly increases the output voltage and allows up to 500 W RMS into 8 ohms. To build a complete monoblock system, you need two AMP-F8s: each configured in bridge mode and connected to a single loudspeaker (one for the left channel, one for the right). The speaker binding posts on the rear panel are clearly labeled for bridge-mode connection, which prevents miswiring. A natural upgrade path: start with a single AMP-F8 in stereo, then add a second AMP-F8 later to switch to monoblocks.

Can I use the AMP-F8 with a non-Eversolo preamplifier?

Yes, the AMP-F8 provides a standard balanced XLR input and an unbalanced RCA input, compatible with virtually any preamplifier or streamer with a variable analog output. A two-position gain switch (23 dB or 29 dB) allows you to match input sensitivity to the source you're using. A 12 V trigger input and output allow integration with third-party preamplifiers that provide trigger outputs, not just with other Eversolo components.

How do I connect the AMP-F8 to an Eversolo network streamer?

Connect the analog XLR or RCA output of your Eversolo streamer (for example DMP-A8 Gen 2, DMP-A8 Master Gen 2, or DMP-A10) to the matching input on the AMP-F8 with audio interconnects. For automatic power sequencing, connect the streamer's 12 V trigger output to the AMP-F8's 12 V trigger input with the supplied cable: powering the streamer on will simultaneously wake the amplifier. To round out the Eversolo system with a dedicated DAC, insert a DAC-Z10 between the streamer and the AMP-F8. For a monoblock system, add a second AMP-F8 configured in bridge mode.
