Its body is CNC-machined from a block of 6000-series aluminum-magnesium alloy for rigid structural integrity and a dense hand feel. The front is dominated by a 2.39-inch IPS color display at 222 × 480 resolution, showing album art, lyrics, or retro visual themes such as an animated cassette and a real-time VU meter.

Dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC Architecture

Under the chassis, the Echo runs two independent Cirrus Logic CS43198 digital-to-analog converters. This balanced implementation improves channel separation, lowers the noise floor, and aims for a linear reproduction faithful to the original recording. The player supports native hardware decoding of DSD up to DSD256 and PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and accepts DSD, FLAC, WAV, APE, MP3, M4A, and OGG files.

Headphone Connectivity and Amplification

The headphone outputs sit on the side of the unit. The 3.5 mm single-ended jack delivers 120 mW into 32 ohms for typical earphones and headphones, while the 4.4 mm balanced output reaches 260 mW into 32 ohms for more demanding transducers. A UAC-based USB DAC mode also lets the Echo work as an external sound card for a computer or smartphone without driver installation.

Battery Life, Storage, and Wireless

An 1100 mAh rechargeable battery delivers up to 14 hours of continuous playback depending on the file type and output used. Storage combines 4 GB of internal memory with a MicroSD card slot supporting up to 256 GB, providing room for a lossless library in FLAC, WAV, or APE.
