It supplies an independent 5 V / 0.6 A rail to run the DAC without pulling from the phone or tablet — a real problem with a powerful dongle DAC like the KA17, which can drain an iPhone or an Android in a few hours of listening. The 64 × 23.5 × 13 mm body at about 31 g slides into a pocket with no meaningful bulk on top of the DAC itself.

Clean Power Rail and Built-In Charge Management

The output stage uses AVX low-ESR tantalum capacitors to smooth ripple on the 5 V rail and give the DAC a cleaner supply than a generic power bank does. The SW6003 controller handles charging (5 V / 1 A USB-C input) and discharging, with an LED indicator for battery state.
