Dual ESS ES9069Q DACs – 4th-Gen HyperStream
At the core of the KA17 are two ESS ES9069Q DACs, running dual-channel for both left and right. Built with 4th‑generation HyperStream technology, these DACs bring ultra‑low noise, improved efficiency, and extreme dynamic resolution. Details emerge effortlessly from a deep, black background, drawing you into your music with incredible realism.

XMOS XU316 & 10-Band PEQ
Handling digital duties is the XMOS XU316 16-core USB processor, offering lower latency, improved stability, and stronger compatibility than typical dongle chips. Coupled with precision dual oscillators, the KA17 supports high-resolution decoding across PCM and DSD formats with immaculate timing.

It also unlocks a 10‑band high‑precision PEQ (up to PCM 192kHz/24bit), developed with FiiO’s proprietary algorithms. Accessible via the app or FiiO’s PEQ web portal, it allows precise control over frequency, gain, and Q factor. Presets can be saved and shared, ensuring tailored sound for every headphone and setup.

Fully Balanced THX AAA 78+ Amplification
The KA17 integrates 8 op-amps across four THX AAA 78+ modules, operating in a fully balanced 4‑channel configuration with 8 parallel streams of amplification. In desktop mode, the four amps combine in parallel for maximum drive: up to 650 mW + 650 mW balanced output at 32Ω, or 270 mW single-ended — rivaling many standalone desktop headphone amplifiers.

HiFi Circuit Design & Multi-Rail Power Supply
Taking design cues from FiiO’s higher-end DAPs, the KA17 features a multi-level HiFi audio architecture consisting of DAC stage, LPF voltage amplification, buffering, and parallel headphone amps. The entire path is ultra-clean and distortion-free.

Its 3-stage, 10-rail power supply includes filtering, DC-DC boost conversion, and LDO regulation, all separated across independent rails for digital, DAC, and analog circuits. Combined with separated boards for digital and analog stages — each shielded in its own enclosure — the KA17 achieves maximum isolation and minimal crosstalk.

Flexible Controls & Display
A 0.91-inch dot-matrix display provides quick access to key info, while physical buttons (programmable with 3 different operation modes) allow volume, playback, or menu control. Users can select gain, filter, EQ, or sleep timers easily. Two volume stepping modes ensure either fine (120 steps) or fast (60 steps) adjustments.

Comprehensive Functions & Protection
The KA17 brings dual USB-C ports: one for data/device connection and one for external power, ensuring high output without draining your phone’s battery. Additional features include 3.5mm SPDIF output (96kHz/32bit), gain control, and advanced protection systems (temperature monitoring, DC output protection, max volume limits). Available in black, blue, or titanium, each with a color‑matched leatherette case.
