Per-Ear DAC and Amplification with QCC5181

Each ear hook uses an AKM AK4333 (DAC combined with a Class AB amplifier) paired with the Qualcomm QCC5181 Bluetooth 6.0 platform. Amplification is sized for in-ear monitors; the FiiO Control app exposes the DAC's digital filter options (Fast-linear, Slow-linear, Fast-minimum phase, Slow-minimum phase). Pairing starts automatically when the case is opened, and reconnection is automatic after the first pairing.

Supported Bluetooth Codecs

The Link TWS supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC (up to 990 kbps). The FiiO Control app displays the active codec and the battery level of each ear hook in real time. A dual-device mode (simultaneous connection to two sources) and a game mode (reduced latency) are available from the app.

Interchangeable MMCX and 0.78 mm 2-Pin Modules

The connector at the end of each ear hook is modular: the box contains both MMCX and 0.78 mm 2-pin modules that can be swapped by hand. This makes the Link TWS compatible with the large majority of in-ear monitors that use a detachable cable. Controls are physical (multifunction), with three button layouts selectable in the app, covering playback, track skip, volume, calls, voice assistant, transparency mode, pairing, and factory reset.

Case with Display and Parametric EQ

The transport and charging case includes a small display; a press on the cradle button shows Bluetooth status and battery levels for both the case and the ear hooks. In the app, a 10-band parametric equalizer is available with three user slots, preset profiles, and access to advanced parameters (frequency, filter type). Output volume, prompt volume, and call volume each use a 0–32 range, and transparency mode uses a continuous intensity slider.

Common Questions

Which earphones are compatible?

The Link TWS is intended for in-ear monitors whose cable detaches at an MMCX connector or a 0.78 mm 2-pin socket. Both modules are included. Internal amplification is sized for in-ear monitors; it does not replace a desktop headphone amplifier for hard-to-drive over-ear headphones.

Which Bluetooth codecs are supported?

SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are supported (LDAC up to 990 kbps). The codec actually used also depends on the source (phone, DAP, or computer); the FiiO Control app shows the active codec in real time.

How does transparency mode work?

Microphones in the ear hooks feed ambient sound into the earphones without removing them. Intensity is set on a continuous 0–16 scale in the FiiO Control app. It is a convenience mode; it does not replace the active noise cancellation or transparency of headphones and earbuds designed specifically for that.

Does the EQ stay active with every source?

Yes. Parametric EQ curves and other profiles configured in the FiiO Control app are stored inside the Link TWS itself. They remain active when the ear hooks are later connected to a different phone, tablet, computer, or digital audio player.
