FiiO WIND PRO - Grey - Black

Description

The retro-modern on-ear of the WIND lineup

The FiiO WIND PRO embodies FiiO's signature retro design philosophy, but delivers a listening experience that is truly in a class of its own. Building on the warm, natural sound of its predecessor the EH11, FiiO refined every element — from acoustic engineering to material finish. The result is a tribute to the timeless charm of classic compact headphones made accessible to today's listeners, with an aesthetic inspired by the 2000s.

40 mm dynamic driver with composite suspension

At the core of each ear cup sits a 40 mm high-performance dynamic driver with a soft composite suspension. This architecture minimizes resonance and delivers precise percussion attack with a richly layered soundstage. Bass extension reaches down to 23 Hz for impact and dynamics that rival larger over-ear models. The sound signature stays neutral yet warm, delivering a relaxed listen that never grows tiring, versatile across all genres but excelling particularly in pop, jazz, country and vocal performances.

Semi-open design with vents and damping

The WIND PRO adopts a semi-open acoustic architecture engineered with specialized vents and acoustic damping filters. This approach produces a sound with extended treble and natural, transparent vocals. It eliminates the “stuffy” sensation common in closed-back models — ensuring your music feels open and effortless, even during extended listening. The architecture also solves the sound-leakage problem of fully open-back designs: you keep your listening private in quiet spaces without disturbing those around you.

Retro aesthetic and refined finish

With its compact style that instantly transports you back to the 2000s, the WIND PRO is much more than just a headphone — it's a portable retro-style statement piece. The fully metal faceplate uses a specialized photolithographic process that delivers precise, uniform texture with striking visual depth. A sleek metal plug provides a secure connection and rugged, long-lasting performance. Available in black or gray to match your style.

Ultra-light 77 g comfort for extended listening

Weighing just 77 g, the WIND PRO offers a light and effortless wearing experience. The adjustable stainless-steel headband is designed to contour perfectly to your head with minimal lateral clamping force, while the swiveling ear cups adjust to your preferred angle to enhance the soundstage while providing a snug, personalized fit. Two pairs of interchangeable ear cushions are included — handy for switching looks quickly or refreshing the cushions after months of use.

Braided cable and CTIA in-line controls

The WIND PRO is now equipped with a fully braided cable for a premium feel and superior durability, built to withstand daily wear and tear. The built-in in-line remote lets you easily control playback, track selection and volume, with a microphone for calls. These controls are fully CTIA-compatible, ensuring interoperability with most mainstream audio devices — smartphones, tablets and laptops. Hi-Res Audio certified by the Japan Audio Society.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What's the difference between the WIND PRO and the standard WIND?

The WIND PRO is the upgraded version of the WIND in the same lineup, engineered to deliver a noticeable step up on several fronts. Both headphones share the compact semi-open on-ear format, retro aesthetic and 40 mm dynamic driver. The WIND PRO adds key upgrades: a next-generation high-performance driver with soft composite suspension for added precision and bass extension down to 23 Hz; a fully braided cable with a refined metal plug (vs standard cable); a fully metal faceplate using a specialized photolithographic process for a more refined finish; and two pairs of interchangeable ear cushions included (vs a single pair). The PRO also carries Hi-Res Audio certification by the Japan Audio Society.

Do I need an amplifier to drive this headphone?

No. The WIND PRO is designed to be driven directly from any common device with a 3.5 mm jack: smartphone, tablet, laptop, digital audio player or small USB DAC/dongle. Its high-efficiency driver delivers full dynamics without requiring external amplification. A dedicated headphone amplifier may bring out additional nuance and space, but it isn't required for everyday use.

Does this headphone isolate well from outside noise?

No, its semi-open design intentionally allows some ambient sound to pass through. This architecture favors a wider soundstage and more natural reproduction, but it does not block environmental noise the way a closed-back or active-noise-canceling model would. It does, however, limit sound leakage outward much better than a fully open design, making it suitable for listening in quiet or moderately noisy environments without disturbing those around you.

Does the in-line remote work with my phone?

Yes. The in-line remote and microphone built into the cable are fully compatible with the CTIA standard, which is the standard used by the vast majority of modern audio devices (iPhone, Android smartphones, recent Mac and Windows computers). You can control playback, change tracks, adjust volume and answer calls directly from the cable.
