The Stylus Red4 is the replacement stylus at the Red level of Grado's Prestige series. It uses a bonded elliptical diamond for consistent contact with the record groove walls, a three-piece OTL (Open Transmission Line) cantilever, and a brass mounting bracket. Recommended tracking force is between 1 and 2 grams, set precisely on the turntable.

Prestige Series Cross-Compatibility and Replacement

All current Grado Prestige series styli are interchangeable with each other and with every Prestige cartridge body, so the Stylus Red4 can replace a worn Red4 stylus or serve as an upgrade path from a lower level (for example, from Green4 or Black4) on the same cartridge body. Replacement is done by hand: the stylus assembly pulls off the body and a new one presses back into place, without disassembly and without re-aligning the cartridge on the tonearm. Grado suggests replacing a worn stylus after roughly 800 to 1,000 hours of playback.
