The LS LUXE extends KEF's long collaboration with British industrial designer Ross Lovegrove, whose earlier work for the brand includes the MUON speakers, the Mu3 earphones, and the Mu7 headphones. The rounded, fluid cabinet is molded in BMC (bulk molding compound), a thermoset composite that provides high rigidity without heavy internal bracing — the internal acoustic volume stays intact in a compact footprint. The outer geometry minimizes edge diffraction, and the Uni-Q array is mechanically decoupled from the cabinet by a flexible chassis that isolates its vibrations from the enclosure.

12th-Generation Uni-Q Driver Array With MAT

The coaxial Uni-Q array combines a 25 mm vented aluminum dome tweeter mounted at the exact acoustic center of a 165 mm (6.5-inch) aluminum cone. Behind the tweeter, MAT (Metamaterial Absorption Technology) absorbs 99% of unwanted rear radiation to reduce distortion and coloration in the high frequencies. KEF rates the response at 42 Hz to 28 kHz (±3 dB), with extension down to 35 Hz (-6 dB) and a maximum SPL of 110 dB at 1 m.

Bi-Amplification With Closed-Loop Velocity Control (VECO)

Each speaker carries 380 W of internal amplification: 280 W of Class D current-drive amplification for the low/mid cone and 100 W of Class AB amplification for the tweeter. The LS LUXE is KEF's first speaker to use Velocity Control Technology (VECO), after its debut in the XIO soundbar — a closed-loop system that measures actual cone velocity with a sensor and feeds an instantaneous correction back into the amplifier before deviations turn into audible distortion. The Music Integrity Engine (MIE) DSP supervises tonal balance across all listening levels.

W2 Platform: Network, Inputs, and Subwoofer Output

The W2 wireless platform handles network playback up to 24-bit/384 kHz, with AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Internet Radio, and podcasts. Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), UPnP and NAS support, and Roon Ready support announced for 2027. Wired connectivity on the primary speaker: HDMI eARC (up to 24-bit/192 kHz), TOSLINK optical (24-bit/96 kHz), digital coaxial (24-bit/192 kHz), a 3.5 mm analog input, and an RCA subwoofer output — the secondary speaker only carries the interspeaker RJ45 line. The link between the two speakers is either wireless (resampled to 24-bit/96 kHz) or wired Ethernet (24-bit/192 kHz), and the optional K-Stream cable accepts up to 8 meters between the two units.
