Front-Panel High-Resolution USB Playback

A front-panel USB-A input plays audio files directly from a USB drive. Supported formats include WAV, FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF, and DSD, alongside standard audio CDs and CD-R/CD-RW discs. This lets the CD 70 handle both a physical CD collection and locally stored high-resolution files from a single unit.

HDAM-SA2 Headphone Amplifier

A built-in headphone amplifier runs its own HDAM-SA2 circuit with selectable gain, so it can adapt to headphones of different impedances and sensitivities. The headphone stage is independent of the main line output, so the CD 70 can be used as a personal headphone listening source without powering up the rest of the system.

Construction and Connectivity

The chassis uses a double-layered base, rigid isolation feet, and copper hardware to limit mechanical vibration and parasitic coupling. Power is supplied through a toroidal transformer for a low noise floor. Rear-panel connectivity includes gold-plated RCA analog outputs, plus optical and coaxial digital outputs to pair with an external DAC or preamplifier.
