Design and Engineering Philosophy 
The Rega Aethos stereo amplifier is housed in a brand new, custom-designed case. Employing four 160 W output transistors per channel, this product has one goal: to deliver your music as faithfully as possible. The design focuses on developing the circuit and construction using the highest specification of components. The amplifier includes useful features such as a switchable direct input and pre-amplifier output. The headphone socket is integrated so that speaker switching is performed by an output mute relay, which does not obstruct the signal path or degrade sound quality. The Aethos builds on the concepts of the Elex-R and Elicit-R to propel performance to the next level with a 125-watt dual-mono design.

Technical Architecture 
The Aethos is a dual-mono design that utilizes a custom-wound toroidal transformer and regulated supplies for the sensitive amplification and driver stages. The pre-amplifier stage uses Class-A discrete circuitry throughout. It features fully discrete FET-based line amplifiers and polypropylene capacitors throughout the signal path. The amplifier employs four 160 W, 16 Amp output transistors per channel, delivering 156 W into 6 Ω.

Connectivity and Versatility 
The Aethos includes five line inputs, a direct input, a pre-amp out, and a record out. It also has a headphone socket that is capable of driving all standard hi-fi headphones. The amplifier comes with a remote control.
