A powerful and versatile integrated amplifier
The Rega Elex MK4 is a high-performance stereo integrated amplifier designed to deliver pure and dynamic sound reproduction. Housed in a newly developed case that aligns with the rest of the Rega range, the MK4 builds on the company’s award-winning Class A/B power amplifier circuit, offering 72 watts per channel into 8 ohms (90 watts into 6 ohms). Thanks to its robust output stage and quiet multi-stage linear power supply, the Elex MK4 drives demanding loudspeakers with authority while maintaining precise control and musicality.

Optimized amplification circuit
Rega’s engineers have fully redesigned the Elex MK4 circuit board to push performance even further and reduce distortion. The Class A/B amplifier uses carefully selected audiophile-grade components including high-quality relays, polypropylene capacitors, and Sanken output transistors. Galvanic isolation between the digital and analog sections preserves signal purity, ensuring a transparent and natural listening experience across all sources.

Integrated DAC and digital section
Equipped with a high-performance digital-to-analog converter, the Elex MK4 expands flexibility for modern listening. Inspired by the acclaimed Rega DAC-R, its coaxial and optical inputs are galvanically and optically isolated, with a Wolfson S/PDIF receiver ensuring exceptional detail and clarity. Conversion is handled by a Wolfson DAC paired with a discrete Rega-designed line driver, guaranteeing smooth and musical playback. Importantly, the digital section has been carefully engineered to avoid interfering with the amplifier’s analog performance.

Built-in MM phono stage for vinyl playback
Staying true to Rega’s analog heritage, the Elex MK4 incorporates a high-quality moving magnet (MM) phono stage. The RIAA equalization is split into two stages to minimize interaction, with polyester capacitors in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors in the equalization circuits. This ensures accurate, detailed, and noise-free playback from vinyl records.

Headphone output and complete connectivity
On the front panel, a headphone output has been carefully implemented to preserve overall performance. The speaker switching is handled by an output mute relay, ensuring that when headphones are not in use, the signal path remains untouched. On the rear, the Elex MK4 offers four line-level inputs, digital inputs, a dedicated phono stage, as well as pre-out and record out connections, making it highly adaptable to any high-fidelity system.

Robust chassis and protection system
The custom-designed case of the Elex MK4 provides both a sleek finish and excellent heat dissipation, using the entire housing as an efficient heat sink. Advanced protection systems are built-in, including thermal cut-out, short circuit protection, and DC protection, ensuring reliability and long-term durability without compromising sound quality.
