The Rega RB220 is a meticulously handcrafted tonearm that combines advanced engineering with ease of use, delivering outstanding performance for vinyl playback. Built around a custom one-piece aluminium arm tube, it is designed to optimise resonance control while reducing stress on the ultra-low friction polymer bearings (patent pending). These bearings, hand-fitted with Rega’s proprietary tools and torque settings, ensure exceptionally smooth movement and minimal resistance, allowing the cartridge to extract maximum detail from every record groove.

Stability and mounting system
Equipped with Rega’s renowned three-point mounting system, the RB220 guarantees precise alignment and superior structural rigidity when fitted to the turntable. This enhances stability and overall tracking accuracy, ensuring that even the most delicate musical details are preserved during playback.

Adjustable bias and cartridge compatibility
The latest iteration of the RB220 introduces an adjustable bias feature, expanding compatibility across a wider range of cartridges. Its built-in anti-skate mechanism automatically adjusts tracking force across the record surface, maintaining even contact and balanced playback from start to finish.

Technical specifications in performance context
With an effective mass of 11 g (low mass design), the RB220 is optimised for use with a wide variety of moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. The tonearm geometry includes a mounting distance of 222 mm from platter centre to arm hole centre, an effective length of 236.5 mm, an offset angle of 21.55°, and an overhang of 14.5 mm. These specifications, combined with Rega’s uncompromising build quality, provide a highly accurate, stable, and musical vinyl playback experience.
