SofaBaton R1 - Black

Description

Range extender for your SofaBaton remotes

The SofaBaton R1 infrared repeater seamlessly integrates with your existing control ecosystem to relay commands far beyond the line of sight of the main remote. Designed specifically as an accessory for the SofaBaton U3 and X2 remote models, this compact module communicates wirelessly with the remote to bring infrared control into totally inaccessible zones. It completely eliminates frustrating constraints caused by opaque cabinet doors, solid walls or the physical distance of your audio-video equipment.

360° infrared coverage

The compact R1 chassis is equipped with seven high-power infrared emitters strategically arranged under the dome to broadcast commands in every direction. This robust 360-degree design floods the room or cabinet interior with infrared signals, ensuring that every component — wall-mounted TV, Blu-ray player on a lower shelf, A/V receiver at the back of the cabinet — receives the command instantly. The amplified transmission prevents any dropouts or delays, even when executing complex macros that drive several devices at once.

Installation flexibility with wired blaster

For configurations that demand surgical precision, the R1 includes a 3-meter wired infrared blaster cable with a standard 3.5 mm plug. This secondary cable lets you physically stick an emitter head directly on the infrared sensor of a particularly hard-to-reach or recessed device — handy for cable boxes or A/V receivers buried deep in a media console. The built-in 360° broadcast and the wired blaster can be combined to cover an entire complex A/V rack.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the R1 repeater compatible with the older SofaBaton X1S remote?

No. The R1 uses an exclusive communication protocol that is not supported by the older X1S generation. It is engineered to pair only with the SofaBaton U3, X2 and newer remote models.

How do I install the wired blaster included in the box?

The 3-meter wired cable plugs directly into the 3.5 mm port on the back of the R1 repeater. You then route the other end to the device you want to control and stick the small emitter head directly over its infrared sensor. It's a very effective solution for cable boxes or A/V receivers buried deep in a cabinet where the 360° broadcast might lack precision.

Does it need permanent power?

Yes. The R1 has no built-in battery and is powered continuously through its USB-C port. The 5 V / 1 A wall adapter and USB-C to USB-A cable are included. This design ensures the repeater is always ready to relay commands, with no battery to manage.
