Press and hold it and you'll instantly transfer whatever is playing on any Sonos speaker in the system, whether that's a Move 2 on the balcony, an Era 100 in the kitchen, or a group of speakers spread across the home, directly to the headphones. A second press sends the sound back to the original speaker. It is the most seamless listening continuity a Sonos user can experience.

TV Audio Swap and Shared Listening for Two

For use with your television, the Ace Ultra hands off the audio from your Sonos soundbars (Arc, Arc Ultra, Beam, Beam Ultra, or Ray) directly to the headphones with one press, preserving the full multichannel Dolby Atmos mix. This feature now supports two pairs of Ace Ultra at the same time, allowing you to watch a movie together late at night without disturbing the household.

Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2× More Effective + Adaptive EQ

The Ace Ultra's adaptive noise cancellation is twice as effective as the one in the original Sonos Ace. Ten microphones serve ANC, Aware mode, phone calls, and the TrueCinema feature. Adaptive EQ adjusts equalization in real time based on how the headphones fit on your head, which guarantees a consistent sonic signature even if the headphones shift slightly. Sidetone lets you hear your own voice during a call with ANC active.

Bluetooth 6.0, aptX Adaptive Lossless, USB-C, Multipoint

The headphones support Bluetooth 6.0 with SBC, AAC, and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Lossless for lossless listening from a compatible device. Can the headphones play lossless music?

Yes, in three ways. Over Wi-Fi via the Sonos app: lossless playback of supported high-resolution streaming services. Over Bluetooth: Bluetooth 6.0 supports Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Lossless (lossless listening from a compatible device, mainly recent Android phones). Via USB-C cable: direct lossless playback from a computer or a portable audiophile player. SBC and AAC codecs are also supported for universal compatibility (including iOS).

What is the TrueCinema feature?

TrueCinema uses the headphone's microphones to measure the acoustics of your listening room, then applies that acoustic signature to the headphone's audio signal. Result: instead of hearing a generic "headphone" simulation, you hear what a real home cinema installed in your specific room would sound like, with the corresponding spatial anchoring and dynamic head tracking. The feature is activated in the headphone settings within the Sonos app.

Can it be used with devices other than Sonos?

Yes, the Ace Ultra works as a Bluetooth headphone with any phone, computer, or tablet. Multipoint allows you to connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously with automatic switching. The ANC, Adaptive EQ, Aware mode, spatial audio, and lossless listening (aptX Adaptive Lossless or USB-C) functions apply to all sources. Only functions tied to the Sonos system (Wi-Fi linking, handoff from any speaker, TV Audio Swap, and TrueCinema) require a compatible Sonos ecosystem.
