The Sonus faber Sonetto V G2 brings several acoustic innovations developed for the flagship Suprema system down into the Sonetto collection. The result: a 3-way floorstander whose architecture is inherited from the reference tier rather than from lower-tier models. It is positioned for mid-sized to large rooms where the listener wants the scale and authority of a proper 3-way design without stepping up to the format and price of the flagship Sonetto VIII G2. Hand-built in the historic Sonus faber workshops in Vicenza.

Sealed Cork Chamber and 6.5-inch Camelia Midrange

The tweeter and midrange are housed together in a sealed internal cork chamber inherited from the Suprema. Unlike standard MDF enclosures, cork is an organic material with no regular geometric walls, which prevents the formation of internal standing waves behind the drivers. Inside this chamber, the 6.5-inch Camelia midrange (with copper shorting ring) carries an organic membrane left unpainted for total sound purity: shaped after the camelia flower with five cuts, it deliberately breaks the circular resonances that affect standard cones.

1.1-inch DAD™ Arrow Point Tweeter with Copper Cup

High frequencies are handled by the signature Damped Apex Dome (DAD) tweeter, a 1.1-inch (28 mm) Arrow Point configuration mounted in a copper cup that extends its response beyond 30 kHz (reaching 40 kHz). By applying localized dampening to the apex of the silk dome, this design prevents the anti-phase behavior commonly found in standard soft-dome tweeters at high excursions. The result: open, airy highs without the harshness or listening fatigue often produced by metal-dome alternatives.

Dual 6.5-inch Sandwich-Cone Woofers and Concrete Base

The two 6.5-inch woofers use a sandwich cone construction (with aluminum demodulation rings) and an asymmetric floral-pattern rubber surround that breaks the driver's circular modes to improve linearity. They operate in a down-vented enclosure, anchored by a solid concrete base that lowers the center of gravity and drains mechanical vibrations away from the audio signal. Measured result: bass extension down to 35 Hz.

Lute-Shaped Cabinet with 45° Wood Veneer

True to the Sonus faber signature, the cabinet retains the lute shape that eliminates parallel internal surfaces and suppresses standing waves. The wood veneer is applied at the 45° angle familiar from the Stradivari, Amati, and entire Homage flagship series — an artisanal detail that highlights the handcrafted nature of the build. The top panel is wrapped in leather. Three finishes: walnut, wenge, or piano black high-gloss.
