Through McIntosh Autoformer™ technology — developed by McIntosh since 1949 — the MC611 delivers its full 600 W into 2, 4, or 8 ohm loads with no compromise. A conventional solid-state amplifier with a single fixed output impedance could give up significant power on a mismatched load; the Autoformer™ eliminates that compromise. On the rear, three sets of Solid Cinch™ binding posts (one set per impedance) offer separate outputs for 2, 4, and 8 ohms — new on this model: the spacing between each set has been increased for easier speaker cable management.
