The Rega Planar 10 takes direct inspiration from the brand’s flagship Naiad turntable, delivering uncompromising performance through advanced engineering and premium materials. Built on an ultra-light skeletal plinth constructed from aerospace-grade Tancast 8 foam core and finished in a high-pressure laminate (HPL) skin, the structure achieves exceptional rigidity with minimal mass. This is the first production turntable to incorporate ceramic bracing, providing a perfectly rigid platform for the precision RB3000 tonearm and custom central bearing assembly.

Ultra-light skeletal plinth with double brace technology
By combining a super-light plinth with strategically placed ceramic and phenolic braces, the Planar 10 maximizes structural integrity while preventing unwanted energy absorption. This unique double brace system ensures the tonearm and bearing assembly remain perfectly stable, allowing the stylus to track even the most delicate groove modulations with absolute precision. The skeletal design further reduces weight compared to its predecessor while increasing overall rigidity for cleaner, more accurate playback.

RB3000 tonearm: micron-perfect precision
The RB3000 is a reference-grade tonearm engineered with tolerances so tight that no adhesives are used in its assembly. Its preloaded zero-tolerance bearing system offers friction-free movement with zero play, enabling it to track record grooves as small as one micron. A re-engineered aluminium arm tube redistributes mass to reduce stress on the bearings, enhancing stability and reducing resonance. The result is exceptional detail retrieval and an effortless, natural presentation.

Custom hub bearing and ceramic platter
The central bearing assembly features a single-piece aluminium sub-platter with a hardened tool steel spindle, housed in a custom brass body for improved mechanical integrity. This assembly is carefully mounted to isolate and eliminate unwanted energy transfer. The bespoke ceramic oxide platter is diamond cut for perfect flatness and speed stability, with a flywheel effect that ensures consistent rotational accuracy.

Advanced motor and power supply control
The Planar 10 uses Rega’s latest 24 V low-noise synchronous motor, mounted using a unique coupling method derived from the Naiad to minimize vibration. The P10-PSU power supply offers electronic speed control, advanced anti-vibration circuitry, and digital fine speed adjustment. A high-stability DSP generator ensures precise motor control by generating a near-perfect sinusoidal waveform, factory-tuned for each individual motor to optimize performance.

EBLT drive belt technology
Developed over three years, the reference EBLT drive belt is manufactured from a custom rubber compound using an advanced curing process for unmatched dimensional accuracy. Produced on ultra-precise tooling inspired by Formula 1 engineering, these belts deliver perfect rotational consistency for unparalleled speed stability.

Reduced-mass dust cover design
A newly designed, removable single-piece dust cover reduces overall mass while maintaining protection for the turntable when not in use.

Optional Apheta 3 cartridge
The Apheta 3 features a fine-line nude diamond stylus mounted on an aluminium cantilever, driven by a super high-powered neodymium magnet and hand-wound micro coil. This design offers outstanding tracking ability, delivering exceptional resolution, dynamic range, and detail retrieval.

Optional Aphelion 2 cartridge
For ultimate performance, the Aphelion 2 combines a boron rod cantilever with a fine-line nude diamond stylus, set in a graded zero-tolerance aluminium body. Its iron micro cross and ultra-fine coil assembly work with one of the most powerful miniaturized neodymium magnets in the world, achieving extraordinary transparency, precision, and musicality.
