Driven by Technics' Direct Drive Legacy
The SL-40C employs a brushless DC motor in a direct drive system that provides strong torque and maintenance-free operation. The coreless motor eliminates cogging, ensuring smooth and precise rotation. The die-cast aluminum platter weighs approximately 1.26 kg and features reinforced ribs with a directly mounted motor magnet for rigid rotation and precise torque control.

Engineered for Precision
Its static balance S-shaped tonearm, is designed for micron-level tracking accuracy and minimal tracking error. This ensures the stylus follows the grooves accurately, maintaining sound fidelity.

Digital Control for Enhanced Accuracy
Digital control technologies include precise speed detection, per-unit calibration during production, and digitally optimized motor drive signals. Separate PCBs for power, motor control, and phono EQ are placed away from the tonearm with crossover-free wiring to minimize distortion.

High-Quality Phono Equalizer
The built-in moving magnet phono equalizer is finely tuned to the AT-VM95C cartridge, using premium components within a dedicated case to deliver clear sound with minimal noise interference.
