The Debut PRO S builds on the PRO series with a stylish upgrade, embodying Pro-Ject's commitment to turntables that encourage intentional listening. This model elevates that philosophy, inviting users to engage directly with its manual controls, creating a tactile experience that rewards the ears. Here, the focus is purely on the essentials—no unnecessary switches, LEDs, or labels to distract. The latest 10-inch S-shaped aluminum tonearm is precisely machined, featuring a CNC-milled bearing block that delivers an exceptional level of audio detail. The Debut PRO S is ideal for cartridge enthusiasts, offering easy swapping of the phono cartridge and headshell for exploring different sound profiles. With adjustable azimuth and VTA, you gain full control over your cartridge's setup parameters. As always, this turntable is handcrafted in Europe using premium materials. The full satin black finish, including hand-painted elements, makes the Debut PRO S as visually striking as it is sonically impressive.
CNC-Machined Aluminum Components Crafted In-House A closer inspection reveals the absence of hollow spaces or plastic parts, with only high-quality aluminum components used to ensure optimal sound quality. The hand-painted, precision CNC-milled parts are visually appealing, enhancing the Debut PRO S’s simple and modern design.
10″ S-Shaped Aluminum Tonearm The latest S-shaped aluminum tonearm design provides excellent damping, with its 10-inch effective length allowing for precise groove tracking with minimal error, even in the inner grooves. Compared to a straight tonearm, the S-shaped design requires more material, increasing the effective mass to accommodate heavier cartridges.
Adjustable VTA & Azimuth Both the azimuth and vertical tracking angle (VTA) are fully adjustable. The tonearm height can be easily modified by loosening and retightening the two grub screws at the rear of the armboard. For azimuth adjustments, a single grub screw near the gimbal allows for precise rotation of the armtube. This flexibility allows for endless experimentation with different cartridges and record mats, enabling you to achieve the sound that best matches your preferences.
Integrated Speed Controller & Stabilizer The platter speed is electronically controlled with high precision, ensuring accurate and stable performance. Switching between 33 and 45 RPM is as simple as flipping a switch. The included round belt also supports 78 RPM records, adding to the Debut PRO S’s versatility. Coupled with the diamond-cut aluminum sub-platter, the speed stability is exceptional, with the increased mass of the drive system further dampening noise and unwanted resonance.
TPE-Damped Die-Cast Aluminum Record Platter The die-cast aluminum platter is meticulously machined and balanced for perfect performance. A TPE ring is added to the underside of the high-mass platter to increase damping and rotational mass, further enhancing speed stability.
True Balanced – Experience a New Level of Audio Quality Transitioning to a balanced setup is a significant upgrade, promising to redefine reference sound quality in your turntable system. Achieving this requires a moving coil cartridge, a turntable with balanced phono outputs, a phono preamp with balanced inputs, and a balanced cable to connect the turntable to the preamp. Pro-Ject has made this technology accessible to serious listeners by offering products that simplify this typically costly setup.
The Debut PRO S comes with a balanced RCA/ground phono output and can be used in a balanced setup with an RCA to mini XLR phono cable and a balanced phono stage with a mini XLR input (such as the Phono Box S3 B & DS3 B). The turntable is shipped with an RCA/ground to RCA/ground phono cable for maximum compatibility right out of the box, as unbalanced dual single-ended RCA/ground is the most common phono connection type. Balanced add-ons are available separately.
The IsoAcoustics zaZen I isolation platform is designed to enhance audio performance by isolating audio amplifiers and turntables from unwanted vibrations
